The localization of Spanish songs has been carried out in collaboration with the radio station 40 Principales. This 8th installment of SingStar brings together well-known pop songs, since 2000, including especially very recent hits. Normally, 2 players compete at the same time, although the game includes other types of modes for more players.
It is about singing the most similar or equally, trying to tune the same, to be able to score points. SingStar Pop Hits Top 40 challenges players to sing as in the original songs, but with their own voice. The lyrics of the song are displayed throughout the game at the bottom of the screen. Players interact with the PS2 via USB microphones, while a song is shown, along with its music video, on screen.
